The UK has representation on eight of the 11 category shortlists for the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n Initially, 87 entries submitted by UK sports writers, broadcasters and photographers were longlisted for the eighth edition of the awards, which celebrates excellence in the industry from across the globe.<\/p>\n Those longlists have now been reduced to shortlists, with 31 entries going through to the next stage.<\/p>\n Last year, The Athletic\u2019s Adam Leventhal<\/a> won the Writing Best Colour Piece category, while CNN\u2019s Issy Ronald<\/a> was among six more British entries to reach the final stage of the competition.<\/p>\n Other previous UK winners at the AIPS Sport Media Awards<\/a> include photographer Sam Barnes<\/a>, CNN writer Jack Bantock<\/a>, Kate Rowan (Telegraph), Dina Asher-Smith (Telegraph column) and Suzy Wrack<\/a> (The Guardian).<\/p>\n This time, the free-to-enter awards received nearly 2,000 submissions<\/a> representing 130 nationalities. They are potentially lucrative as well as prestigious, with prizes of US $5,000 (1st), $3,000 (2nd) and $2,000 (3rd) on offer for those who finish in the main category podium places.<\/p>\n The shortlists will next be reduced to top 10s.<\/p>\n From there, the top three entrants in each category will be invited to attend the awards ceremony, which will be part of the annual AIPS Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland, in April.<\/p>\n Here are the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2025 categories in which UK entrants were shortlisted, with their names and other info.
