The very first Bristol Cider Week is taking place this summer.<\/p>\n

Founded by some of the leading names in the world of cider, it is said to be the first of its kind for the city, bringing with it a city-wide celebration of craft cider and perry to a selection of venues across Bristol.<\/p>\n

As a cider-loving city, organisers are promising something they describe as being ‘like The Edinburgh Fringe, but for cider’ and ‘the Oktoberfest to cider’ with the event enabling cider drinkers to sample a selection of drinks as well as learn how they’re made.<\/p>\n

Co-founder Dan Heath, who owns The Cider Box: Urban Cidery & Tap Room, said: “We\u2019re tremendously excited to celebrate Bristol as the UK Capital of Cider.<\/p>\n

“More cider is enjoyed here than in any other city in the world and we\u2019re surrounded by the great cidermaking counties; Somerset, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, and Bristol is considered the ‘gateway’ where West Country<\/a> cider flows into national culture. It\u2019s time to raise a glass to this!\u201d”<\/p>\n

Brand new for 2025, Bristol Cider Week kicks off on Friday, July 25, and will be a nine-day celebration of ‘the South West’s most famous export’, spanning venues and producers from across Bristol and the region.<\/p>\n

The aim is to showcase the city’s cider making – and drinking – heritage, as well as cider and perry producers and orchards, and what makes Bristol ‘the cider capital of the world’.<\/p>\n

Activities across the nine days will include everything from parties, tastings and dinners, as well as talks, workshops and a city-wide cider trail.<\/p>\n

The week will finish on Sunday, August 3, and will include a huge opening party on the SS Great Britain<\/a>, which will feature meet-the-maker cider tasting sessions, eight pours of craft cider, fine cheese from local producers, and a chance to explore the iconic landmark after hours.<\/p>\n

What and who is among the line-up?<\/p>\n

Cider City – King Street takeover (July 26 & 27)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cider City is described as combining a city centre block party on historic King Street with a city-wide cider trail encompassing many of Bristol\u2019s most iconic venues.<\/p>\n

The 2025 event will see special releases, tap takeovers, music and festivities along King Street’s rank of historic pubs<\/a> and venues.<\/p>\n

The official Cider City bar hosted by Bristol Old Vic will showcase some of the UK’s most exciting new ciders.<\/p>\n
