According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/article-15679729\/Queen-Camilla-royal-woman-Garrick-Club.html\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/royals\/article-15679729\/Queen-Camilla-royal-woman-Garrick-Club.html\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Daily Mail\" data-node-id=\"0.1\" class=\"body-link css-wwtvcb emevuu60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a>, the Queen\u2019s name was proposed and accepted at a recent meeting, which she attended in person. Her membership is expected to be formally confirmed in April.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"1\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">The Garrick, founded in 1831, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-england-london-68972358\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-england-london-68972358\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"voted to admit women in 2024\" data-node-id=\"1.1\" class=\"body-link css-wwtvcb emevuu60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">voted to admit women in 2024<\/a> after nearly 193 years as an all-male institution. The measure passed with nearly 60% in favor after previous votes failed to overturn the status quo. (The resolution required a 50% majority.) Past members have included H.G. Wells, Anthony Trollope, and J.M. Barrie. Camilla has spent much of her royal tenure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/g35164650\/camilla-duchess-of-cornwall-reading-room-books-list\/\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.townandcountrymag.com\/society\/tradition\/g35164650\/camilla-duchess-of-cornwall-reading-room-books-list\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"championing literature and reading\" data-node-id=\"3.3\" class=\"body-link css-wwtvcb emevuu60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">championing literature and reading<\/a>.
