He was issued a child abduction warning notice the following day, ordering that he was not to be in the girl’s company.<\/p>\n
But two days later, the teenager went missing again.<\/p>\n
Police officers attended Gina’s address and saw her climbing out of a downstairs window.<\/p>\n
Ms Appleby added: “The defendant made active attempts to evade arrest.<\/p>\n
“Officers gained access and found the defendant hiding, holding an object to his neck which was already bleeding.”<\/p>\n
Antonie Muller, defending, stated Gina came to the UK for university and ended up in jail having been remanded in custody awaiting his sentence.<\/p>\n
He said: “He has already signed deportation papers to take him back to the Czech Republic from where he came as a young lad.<\/p>\n
“He came for university. He has done five qualifications in jail.<\/p>\n
“He believes he will get a job as a translator in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n
“When he was in this country, when he first arrived at a young age, he had no convictions at all.<\/p>\n
“He arrived legally. But he suffered the loss of his mother.<\/p>\n
“It was his first bereavement, a very significant bereavement and he went off the rails.<\/p>\n
“He was drinking and making bad choices.”<\/p>\n
The barrister added Gina was ‘ready’ to go back to the Czech Republic where his grandmother lives.<\/p>\n
Judge Andrew Lockhart KC concluded he had ‘no doubt’ he was in a sexual relationship with the girl, adding he posed a risk of danger to young people.<\/p>\n
He stated he could expect to serve up to 40 per cent of the two-year term in custody before release.<\/p>\n
