{"id":85522,"date":"2025-05-08T20:30:14","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T20:30:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/85522\/"},"modified":"2025-05-08T20:30:14","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T20:30:14","slug":"jannik-sinners-coach-predicts-what-is-going-to-happen-in-his-first-two-matches-back-at-the-italian-open-after-his-suspension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/85522\/","title":{"rendered":"Jannik Sinner\u2019s coach predicts what is going to happen in his first two matches back at the Italian Open after his suspension"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Jannik Sinner is finally back in action at the Italian Open in Rome, following the end of his three-month ban from tennis. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/nick-kyrgios-delivers-his-instant-thoughts-after-jannik-sinner-is-banned-from-tennis-for-three-months\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner was banned from the sport<\/a> in February after testing positive for clostebol in 2024. <\/p>\n<p>The world number one has now served out his suspension and will face Argentine Mariano Navone in his opening match at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/italian-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Italian Open<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>His last match was the Australian Open final, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/rennae-stubbs-claims-jannik-sinner-did-something-in-the-australian-open-final-which-was-similar-to-madison-keys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner won in straight sets<\/a> against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/alexander-zverev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alexander Zverev<\/a> to clinch his third Grand Slam title.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinner<\/a> will play his first competitive match in three months after a ban that his coach says had a damning effect on him.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/GettyImages-2213273296-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by PIERO CRUCIATTI\/AFP via Getty Images\" \/>Photo by PIERO CRUCIATTI\/AFP via Getty ImagesJannik Sinner\u2019s coach predicts a struggle in the first two Italian Open matches<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/tennis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sky Sports<\/a> ahead of the Italian\u2019s Rome campaign, Sinner\u2019s coach Simone Vagnozzi said: \u201cFor a tennis player, when you\u2019re healthy and can\u2019t compete, it\u2019s the hardest thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJannik is a competitive animal\u2026 without that, he felt empty. Now he knows he can get back to doing what he loves. The first two matches will be crucial to get back into the swing of things.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be a bit of a struggle\u2026 he\u2019ll have to get dirty, sweat, win, maybe not perfectly at first, and slowly find his rhythm again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have no idea how competitive Jannik is at everything, from cards to go-karts\u2026 at everything.
