{"id":857797,"date":"2026-03-29T08:02:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-29T08:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/857797\/"},"modified":"2026-03-29T08:02:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-29T08:02:13","slug":"irans-irgc-claims-attacks-on-uae-bahrain-aluminium-facilities-us-israel-war-on-iran-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/857797\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran\u2019s IRGC claims attacks on UAE, Bahrain aluminium facilities | US-Israel war on Iran News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">Iran targets Aluminium Bahrain and Emirates Global Aluminium in retaliation for US-Israeli attacks on its infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"avatar\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/author\/al_jazeera_staff_150119130629458\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1774771333_238_2017-06-08T131939Z_1189275883_RC11B0FE7F20_RTRMADP_3_GULF-QATAR-JAZEERA-1714943623.jpg\"   aria-hidden=\"true\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Published On 29 Mar 202629 Mar 2026<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said it carried out missile and drone attacks on aluminium facilities in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement carried by Iran\u2019s state broadcaster IRIB overnight on Sunday, the IRGC claimed the sites targeted on Saturday were linked to the United States military.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Stories list of 3 itemsend of list<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) said in a statement that two employees were injured in the attack on its facility, while the UAE\u2019s Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) said one of its sites in Abu Dhabi suffered significant damage, and six people were injured.<\/p>\n<p>The strikes were retaliation for a US-Israeli attack on Iranian industrial infrastructure launched from military bases hosting US forces in the Gulf states, the IRGC said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe significance of this is that of the global aluminium supply, estimates are that between 4 to 9 percent comes from this region \u2026 this certainly threatens global supply,\u201d said Al Jazeera\u2019s Zein Basravi, reporting from Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>Since the Middle East war erupted at the end of February, Bahrain and other Gulf countries have regularly been targeted by Iranian missile and drone strikes, with the US-Israel war on Iran now in its fifth week.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Very concerning\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, a worker in Oman was \u2060injured in a \u2060drone attack on Saturday at the Gulf country\u2019s Salalah port, while Danish container\u00a0shipping group \u2060Maersk said \u2060later that it temporarily halted its operations at \u200cthe port following the assault.<\/p>\n<p>Oman\u2019s Foreign \u2060Ministry on Sunday \u2060condemned the attacks \u2060on its territory, adding \u2060that no party had claimed responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>It said authorities were investigating the \u200cattacks\u2019 \u201csources and motives\u201d without providing further details.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia\u2019s air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 10 drones over the past hours, the country\u2019s Ministry of Defence said in a statement on Sunday morning. It did not disclose where the interceptions took place.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the Kuwaiti National Guard says it shot down four drones after air raid sirens sounded in the Gulf nation for a second time within hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Iran continues at this pace by matching attack for attack, that is very concerning, especially since the number of attacks on Iran continues to go up and this conflict continues to escalate,\u201d Al Jazeera\u2019s Basravi noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf there is an escalation in Iran, it is inevitable that there will continue to be escalation in the Gulf Cooperation Council.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Iran targets Aluminium Bahrain and Emirates Global Aluminium in retaliation for US-Israeli attacks on its infrastructure.
