{"id":85780,"date":"2025-05-08T22:47:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T22:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/85780\/"},"modified":"2025-05-08T22:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T22:47:11","slug":"these-are-the-men-behind-the-monstrous-jay-and-killer-gang-that-exploited-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/85780\/","title":{"rendered":"These are the men behind the monstrous &#8216;Jay and Killer&#8217; gang that exploited children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They sent thousands of messages to contacts advertising crack and heroin<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_JH_MEN_080525_court.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Members of a county line drugs gang have been handed sentences totalling over 17 years for their part in supplying illegal drugs throughout Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The gang carried out their crimes by using an organised phone line in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/oldham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Oldham<\/a>, with thousands of flare messages being uncovered by Greater Manchester Police officers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The messages sent to contacts advertised crack and heroin, branded the &#8216;Jay &amp; Killer&#8217; county line, a joint policing operation between GMP\u2019s force County Lines Team and the Oldham Complex Safeguarding Team revealed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The dedicated line was investigated over six months, and it is believed that over that time, the crime operation distributed 5KG of Class A drugs with an estimated street value of \u00a3150K.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Two boys, both aged 14, were recruited and used as drug runners for the gang. They were groomed by criminals and coerced to commit crimes and participate in risky behaviour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Police used &#8216;maximum&#8217; overt and covert policing tactics to gather intelligence to corroborate that the \u2018Jay &amp; Killer\u2019 county line is part of an organised crime group supplying Class A drugs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">On July 25, 2024, the police executed warrants at nine addresses across Oldham, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/chadderton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Chadderton<\/a>, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/stalybridge-and-dukinfield\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Stalybridge<\/a>, and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/rochdale\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rochdale<\/a> and arrested six adults and two teenagers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The adults were charged and remanded that day, and the 14-year-olds found were safeguarded following further evidence that raised serious concerns of exploitation, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/greater-manchester-police\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said today (May 8, 2025).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Fahim Ahmod was identified as the suspected controller of the dedicated drugs line, according to the police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The runners, who were identified through call data on the drugs line, all had a common number. Their mobile data showed a similar pattern of high-volume text messages and short incoming and outgoing calls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">All six defendants pleaded guilty at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-crown-court\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester Crown Court<\/a> on 21 January 2025, on the second day of what would otherwise have been a six-week trial, said the force.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_HVR_MEN_080525_GMP_result.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>All six defendants pleaded guilty(Image: GMP)<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 ENBBt\">Fahim Ahmod, 01\/02\/2000, of Laburnum Avenue in Chadderton, was sentenced to six years and one month in prison for Supply Class A drugs and two counts of arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 ENBBt\">Ashley Cristelo, 01\/09\/1999, of Mottram Road in Stalybridge, was sentenced to four years and one month in prison for Supply Class A drugs, possession of offensive weapon in a public place, and two counts of Arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 ENBBt\">Marley Nuttall-Coley, 14\/12\/1999, of 35 Patterdale Close in Oldham, was sentenced to three years and one month in prison for Supply Class A drugs and possession of offensive weapon in a public place.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 ENBBt\">Destiny Idouzee, 20\/10\/2005, of Collingwood Way in Oldham, was sentenced to 27 months in prison for Supply Class A drugs.<\/li>\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 ENBBt\">Okasha Mumed, 01\/01\/2006, of Hallroyd Brow in Oldham was sentenced to six years and one month in prison for Supply Class A drugs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The sixth defendant will be sentenced on May 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Hearings will now be looked at under the Proceeds of Crime Act to seize any assets gained as a result of criminal activity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Detective Inspector Andy Barrett from GMP\u2019s Oldham Complex Team said: \u201cAll of these individuals are part of a system that preys on the vulnerable and brings nothing but misery to our communities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cIn our investigation, we identified two victims of child criminal exploitation, who were used as a commodity to help the gang make money, and to face the dangers on the streets that they didn\u2019t have to. Our specialist partners agencies are now supporting them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cTackling organised crime and the violence and exploitation that accompanies county lines remains a priority for the force.
