The vacant former Edinburgh Woollen Mill store<\/a><\/strong> in Ullapool could be set to reopen as another tweed store.<\/p>\n A planning application has been lodged<\/a><\/strong> for new signage on the front of the empty shop, with artwork showing it could reopen as “Isle of Tweed”.<\/p>\n Limited further information is included with the application, although the colour scheme, name and logo are identical to those adorning a store which sits on Edinburgh’s Princes Street – suggesting they are linked.<\/p>\n Read more planning stories from Ross-shire<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Read and watch coverage from Highland Heroes 2026 and see who YOU recognise<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Under the new application, which has been lodged by the company Celtic Retail, the front of the vacant shop at 10 Shore Street would be transformed.<\/p>\n If approved, a projecting 3D wrap, coloured in racing green, would be erected on the front of the building and extending round onto part of its side.<\/p>\n New composite slim-framed double doors would be installed within the existing entrance opening, and windows will be replaced with a plain style in racing green.
