You can look forward to peaceful riverside walks and rural scenery, amongst much more, should you venture to this enchanting historic village which one digital creator believes is the “prettiest in England”. So which location deserves exploring this weekend?<\/p>\n

Eynsford is the picturesque Kent village. Content creator Samuel provided a glimpse of his recent visit in a post shared with his 54,900 Instagram followers.<\/p>\n

Captioning the video, he said: “I think I found the prettiest village in England. Less than 1 hour from London and \u00a310 return.”<\/p>\n

His description read: “Save this perfect day trip from London. This charming historic village in Kent, nestled in the beautiful Darent Valley, makes the dreamiest spring escape from London.<\/p>\n

“If you’re craving fresh air, rolling countryside, and peaceful river walks, this is your sign. Wander through open fields, soak-up sweeping views of a 19th-century Victorian viaduct, and slow down in one of the prettiest corners of the English countryside.<\/p>\n

“Expect stepping stones across the river, cosy pub lunches at The Five Bells or The Castle Hotel and that storybook-village feeling at every turn.”<\/p>\n

What to do there<\/p>\n

Upon arrival in Eynsford, a charming village tucked away in the heart of the Kent Downs Darent Valley, you’ll be truly spoilt for choice. You can discover Lullingstone Country Park with its woodland trails, wild meadows and picnic spots.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, pay a visit to Lullingstone Castle and The World Garden \u2013 just ensure to check opening times as these vary with the seasons. You can also stroll along the River Darent, uncover a Norman castle dating back to 1088 and step inside one of Britain’s best-preserved Roman villas.<\/p>\n

Additionally, you can explore the Darent Valley Rail Trails, featuring 17 self-guided walks ranging from 2.5 to 9 miles. These connect to local train stations, offering access to riverside meadows and historic villages.<\/p>\n

How to get there from London<\/p>\n

The most straightforward route from London involves taking a train from Charing Cross to Eynsford, a journey that lasts approximately 45 minutes, reports the Mirror<\/a>. You could also depart from Blackfriars or even London Victoria, with similar travel times.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, driving can take roughly 40-60 minutes, depending on your starting point in London. It’s easier to use the M25 if you’re located further west, or enjoy the sights of central London if setting off from there.
