Speaking outside the White House, Trump told reporters, \u201cWe were watching, and they said he\u2019s from the United States of America, and I said \u2018That\u2019s great.\u2019\u201dTrump also said Vatican officials had already reached out about a potential meeting, though no date has been confirmed. Despite Trump\u2019s warm remarks, Pope Leo\u2019s verified social media account has previously shared content critical of Trump\u2019s policies. In April, it reposted a message condemning mass deportations during his presidency.
