A woman has died after an incident on a major route near Bristol this morning (Monday, March 30).<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A4 Keynsham Bypass around 9.30am.<\/p>\n

A woman in her 50s has died and her family have been made aware, police confirmed this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The A4 was closed in both directions for much of today, with drivers reporting “gridlock” traffic around Keynsham.<\/p>\n

The A4 has reopened westbound, but at the time of reporting, the eastbound carriageway remains closed.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police said: “A woman, in her 50s, sadly died in an incident at about 9.30am on the A4 Keynsham Bypass today (Monday 30 March).<\/p>\n

“Her family have been informed, and our thoughts go out to them at this difficult time.<\/p>\n
