A former bingo hall is set to be demolished to make way for more than 150 affordable homes. And don’t miss out on our brilliant selection of newsletters HERE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Developers say the site is located within an established residential area, close to local services, schools and public transport and that ‘redeveloping the site presents an opportunity to bring a long-vacant piece of land back into use, support regeneration within an existing neighbourhood and make better use of previously developed land.’<\/p>\n Kellen Homes and Jigsaw Homes are seeking feedback from local residents, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders before submitting a planning application to Manchester City Council. A consultation on the scheme is running from Thursday, March 26 until Tuesday, April 7.<\/p>\n A prior approval application for the demolition of the existing building was submitted last week, in advance of a full planning application for the wider redevelopment of the site.<\/p>\n As part of the consultation, a dedicated website has been launched, featuring detailed information about the proposals and a virtual exhibition explaining the plans in more detail.<\/p>\n Garnet Fazackerley, Operations Director of Development at Jigsaw Homes Group, said: \u201cThis is an important opportunity to engage with the local community about how we can bring much-needed affordable homes to the area.
