Megan Thee Stallion <\/a>was hospitalized after falling ill during the Broadway production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical in New York City on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

According to a statement from a representative of Megan provided to Complex, the Houston rapper began feeling \u201cvery ill\u201d in the middle of the show and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff are currently evaluating her symptoms.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring Tuesday night\u2019s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated,\u201d the statement read. \u201cWe will share additional updates as more information becomes available.\u201d<\/p>\n

Loren LoRosa, who said she was at the show, tweeted she came to see Megan on Broadway and \u201cthat was short lived.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cCame to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThe few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT\u2026 They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologized to the audience and said ..\u201dstay inside and seated\u201d I asked security if we\u2019re safe .. they told us \u201cfor now, we\u2019ll update you if anything changes\u201d<\/p>\n

LoRosa added that Megan was \u201cremoved for the night\u201d with \u201cno explanation as to why.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cMilan rouge on Broadway has removed Meg the stallion for the night (no explanation as to why) \u2026 Announcement just came on in the theatre .. they have removed Meg Thee Stallion from the show as Zidler for the rest of the night,\u201d she wrote in a separate tweet.<\/p>\n

Megan Thee Stallion\u2019s hairstylist Kellon Deryck took to social media asking for prayers for the 31-year-old rapper.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear what caused the sudden health issue or how it may impact upcoming performances.<\/p>\n

Megan made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge<\/a> earlier this month, becoming the first female performer to play Zidler in the hit musical.
