It comes weeks after the council told residents they <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/news\/wales-news\/cardiff-households-could-soon-eight-33572279\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">could soon have an eighth bin.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Now a council spokesperson has reminded residents of the expectation to take bins from the pavement once they&#8217;ve been collected in order to avoid similarly messy scenes, while some residents claimed the current state of the streets is attracting rodents. It\u2019s just not something you want to see on your streets,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Josh Armstrong, 21, who is also a student, said: \u201cI think a lot of the time it\u2019s not just because of people, I think it\u2019s also because of the <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.walesonline.co.uk\/all-about\/wales-weather\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">weather<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cWhen you get up the wind [has] often just blown the empty sacks further away. There\u2019s been quite a few times you accidentally pick up somebody else\u2019s because it just blown towards yours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cFrom our side, we can just be more active and just pick them up once they\u2019re collected. Waste presented incorrectly or in the wrong containers will not be collected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cAny sacks and caddies left unclaimed are cleared by Cardiff council staff and this has been taking place on streets in Cathays over the past number of days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThe council\u2019s street scene officers are continuing to visit the area to remind residents not to leave containers on the pavement, and any containers left unclaimed will be removed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cFrom April 1 onwards the introduction of new working practices will further strengthen street cleansing activity.
