{"id":865513,"date":"2026-04-01T19:29:23","date_gmt":"2026-04-01T19:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/865513\/"},"modified":"2026-04-01T19:29:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T19:29:23","slug":"russian-lng-shipments-to-europe-rise-in-early-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/865513\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian LNG shipments to Europe rise in early 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The rise in exports to Europe came even as Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country could divert gas away from the region, as the European Union imposed a ban on imports of Russian pipeline gas by late-2027 and new short-term Russian LNG contracts from late-April this year.<\/p>\n<p>In January, EU countries gave their final approval <a aria-label=\"content\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bairdmaritime.com\/shipping\/tankers\/gas\/european-council-gives-final-approval-to-stepwise-ban-on-imports-of-russian-gas\" rel=\"noopener\">to ban Russian gas imports by late-2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Total exports from Novatek&#8217;s Yamal LNG plant in the January-March period was down two per cent year-on-year at 4.8 million tonnes.
