An Edinburgh warehouse with space for more than 35 businesses and creatives has launched.<\/p>\n

The Pitt in Granton has 50,000 square feet of space, reports Insider<\/a>. The first seven residents are Access Parkour, Dr Bike, Lava Town, Re-use Scotland, Work of Iron, Pi Fabrications and Pitt Strength.<\/p>\n

Hal Prescott, chief executive of Granton Project CIC, which owns and operates The Pitt, said: \u201cAs well as the seven businesses we\u2019ve announced as residents today, we’re also working with several other fantastic organisations across north Edinburgh and some exciting enterprises who have been looking for flexible accommodation.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we have ample space here for more and would love to hear from aspiring entrepreneurs or new businesses ready to grow. \u201c<\/p>\n

The warehouse joins The Pitt Inside, The Pitt Market and The Pitt Venue, based at West Shore Road on the Granton Promenade, part of the Granton Waterfront Regeneration project.<\/p>\n

City of Edinburgh Council leader Jane Meagher said: \u201cThe warehouse is is another example of the success of our \u00a31.3bn regeneration of the wider Granton Waterfront area.<\/p>\n

“Our ambition for the area to become a thriving enterprise and cultural quarter is really starting to take shape.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis includes social enterprise WASPS, who work with artists across the city, already occupying the restored former Granton Station building and we also recently celebrated the opening of the Gasholder 1 Park, which as well as being a much needed recreation space, will also be used for events going forward.”<\/p>\n

Robert Neillings of Pitt Strength commented: “This creative and collaborative space is exactly what we were looking for, and it will also offer options for us to grow as a business and offer our clients even better functional gym training space.<\/p>\n

Since opening in early December, The Pitt has welcomed more than 10,000 visitors and regularly hosts a programme of events in its 700-capacity venue space, alongside the outdoor street food market.<\/p>\n

Established in 2015, by Harry (Hal) Prescott and Scott Kirkham, The Pitt was one of the first year-around street food markets in Scotland. Named after its location on Pitt Street in Leith, it operated until October 2022, when it closed due to planned redevelopment.<\/p>\n

In 2023, The Pitt re-established itself as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and is owned and operated by the Granton Project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Edinburgh warehouse with space for more than 35 businesses and creatives has launched.
