The Duke of Sussex has been speaking out again, this time in an interview with the BBC, where he expressed concerns about his dad, King Charles&#8217; health, and claimed he didn&#8217;t know &#8220;how long&#8221; the monarch has to live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Harry was back in the UK for another court hearing, with his appeal to have his full-time security protection for his family when they are visiting from the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/uk-world-news\/prince-harry-loses-legal-battle-35160539\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">US being rejected<\/a>. Harry, who moved with wife Meghan Markle and young son Prince Archie in 2020, has been fighting to have his police cover reinstated when he brings his family &#8211; including daughter Lilibet &#8211; to the UK, despite their decision to step away from official royal life and its duties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/entertainment\/celebrity\/prince-harrys-pals-disgusted-king-35196838\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Speaking to the BBC<\/a>, Harry said earlier this week: &#8220;There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_Screenshot-2025-05-02-at-172623.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Prince Harry gave an interview to the BBC this week (Image: BBC)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things, but&#8230; There&#8217;s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don&#8217;t know how much longer my father has, he won&#8217;t speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Harry has received backlash for the comments, with pal Ben Goldsmith telling the Daily Mail: &#8220;Tragic but true, Prince Harry&#8217;s behaviour is unforgivable,&#8221; hinting that the ongoing issues between him and his relatives shows no signs of easing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/scottish-news\/king-charles-iii-officially-crowned-29908705\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">This week marks two years<\/a> since Charles began his reign as king, following the death of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth. And it&#8217;s been no easy feat for the new monarch as he took on the role he&#8217;s been waiting his whole life to do.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">As well as facing the continuing fallout between his family members &#8211; following Harry&#8217;s raft of high profile criticisms of &#8221;the Firm&#8217; in his 2021 memoir Spare and his and Meghan&#8217;s interview with Oprah Winfrey that year, not to mention their six-part 2022 Netflix documentary which captivated the world but put another nail in the coffin of royal relations, reportedly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The King has also faced even more serious issues &#8211; that of double cancer diagnoses given to him and daughter in law Kate Middleton early last year, and the subsequent treatment they both had to endure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But during this period two years ago, as Charles III marked<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/uk-world-news\/king-charles-coronation-live-stream-29906942\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" his reign Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> his reign <\/a>in a historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey, there was time for light-hearted chatter as the nation celebrated a momentous moment in its history, and much of that turned to the king&#8217;s &#8216;sausage fingers&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1_Their-Majesties-King-Charles-III-And-Queen-Camilla-Coronation-Day.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/> King Charles III stands after being crowned during his coronation ceremony in Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023 (Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Ever since the then-Prince joked about his hands in 2012, after getting off a long haul flight to Australia, people have wondered what causes the swelling, as we <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/lifestyle\/health-fitness\/doctor-shares-possible-medical-reason-29907203\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">reported previously.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">At the time, one fan took to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/twitter\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"TwitterLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> to say: &#8220;I&#8217;ve never noticed the hands of Prince Charles until this photo. Is he okay? They are so swollen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">GP Chun Tang, Medical Director at Pall Mall Medical in Manchester, has given insight into the potential cause of the 74-year-old&#8217;s so-called &#8216;sausage&#8217; fingers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Dr Tang told the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-12050401\/Im-doctor-heres-reason-King-Charles-swollen-sausage-fingers.html?ns_mchannel=rss&amp;ns_campaign=1490&amp;ito=1490\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a>: &#8220;Often puffy fingers are a symptom of water retention which can be caused by numerous health conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;This condition arises due to inflammation and can be a result of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/lifestyle\/health\/facts-arthritis-how-you-can-6416990\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">arthritis<\/a>, multiple bacterial infections or even TB.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Other possibilities include high salt levels, allergic reactions, medicinal side effects, injury and autoimmune disease.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The technical term for the King&#8217;s &#8216;sausage fingers&#8217; is dactylitis \u2013 which is used to describe severe swelling that affects fingers and toes. King Charles has a seemingly lighthearted approach to his hands&#8217; condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Join the <\/strong><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/scottish-news\/join-daily-records-whatsapp-community-31116469\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"[object Object]Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Daily Record&#8217;s WhatsApp community here<\/strong><\/a> <strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In a letter to his friend after his son, Prince William was born, he apparently joked about his hands, and suggested that William may grow to have similar fingers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">As quoted in Charles, The Man Who Will Be King by Howard Hodgson, Charles reportedly wrote: &#8220;I can&#8217;t tell you how excited and proud I am.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;He really does look surprisingly appetising and has sausage fingers just like mine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_The-Prince-Of-Wales-Duchess-Of-Cornwall-Visit-Wales-Day-4.jpg\" alt=\"King Charles\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>King Charles&#8217; sausage fingers often worry royal fans (Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/entertainment\/celebrity\/king-charles-plans-step-down-31491000\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"KingLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">King<\/a> was also filmed joking about his chubby hands to his son, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/entertainment\/celebrity\/mike-tindall-big-trouble-after-31717270\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Prince William, Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince William, <\/a>during rehearsals for his Coronation in May 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In footage from a documentary that year, Charles III: The Coronation Year, the Prince of Wales was seen attempting to close a small clasp on a lavish robe around his father.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">William made the King laugh as he said: &#8220;On the day, that&#8217;s not going to go in&#8221; with the monarch joking back: &#8220;No, you haven&#8217;t got sausage fingers like mine.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Queen Elizabeth also noted the sheer size of Charles&#8217; hands after he was born and reportedly wrote a letter to her music teacher which said: &#8220;They are rather large, but with fine long fingers quite unlike mine and certainly unlike his father&#8217;s.
