Princess Beatrice<\/a> and Princess Eugenie<\/a> skipped Easter church service amid their dad Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s legal troubles.<\/p>\n

The princesses were notably absent from the royal family’s traditional gathering<\/a> at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, for Easter church service, after the former Prince Andrew’s arrest<\/a> in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office.<\/p>\n

The sisters attended a 2025 Easter service with their parents, Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, but were seen without their parents attending the family’s traditional Christmas Day service<\/a> at St. Mary Magdalene Church later in the year.<\/p>\n

The pair were recently absent as several other members of the British royal family \u2212\u00a0Prince William<\/a>,\u00a0Princess Kate<\/a>,\u00a0King Charles III<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Queen Camilla<\/a>\u00a0\u2212 were spotted at Westminster Abbey in London on March 9, for the 2026 Commonwealth Day Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

An unnamed royal source told Reuters<\/a> and ABC<\/a> that the princesses made the decision to skip Easter service.<\/p>\n

In addition to the king and queen, William, Kate and their three young children \u2212 Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis \u2212 turned out, marking their first Easter appearance since 2023. The king’s other siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, were also in attendance.<\/p>\n

King Charles stripped Andrew of his royal title in October<\/a>, initiating a formal process to remove the former Prince Andrew’s title and honors. His daughters were not affected by the ouster<\/a> and retain their princess titles.<\/p>\n

Charles spoke out shortly after news of his brother’s arrest, encouraging a “full, fair and proper” investigation. “In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation,” her said in the statement provided by Buckingham Palace, adding, “the law must take its course.”<\/p>\n

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie joined the royal family for the annual Christmas walk at Sandringham<\/a> on Dec. 25, 2025, in Sandringham, Norfolk. The surprising show of unity comes just over a month since their father Andrew, formerly the Prince of York and now simply Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, was stripped of his royal titles<\/a> due to his associations with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n

The former prince has faced intense scrutiny<\/a>\u00a0over his friendship with the late convicted\u00a0sex offender Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>. Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, has denied any wrongdoing and said he regrets the friendship; he has not been charged.<\/p>\n

Ferguson, the\u00a0former Duchess of York<\/a>,\u00a0has also been caught in the Epstein fallout. Her one-time friendship with Epstein reportedly<\/a> became apparent after her name came up in the Epstein files, resulting in several charities announced they would\u00a0cut ties with\u00a0her<\/a> in September.<\/p>\n

Ferguson’s<\/a>\u00a0spokesperson declined to comment on the charities’ actions at the time, but said in\u00a0a statement to BBC<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0People<\/a>\u00a0that she “cut off contact” when she became aware of the allegations against him. Ferguson has not been accused of any wrongdoing tied to Epstein.<\/p>\n
