Liverpool<\/a> forward Mohamed Salah should have left the club whilst at the peak of his career last summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>, who thinks that Salah leaving Liverpool now is \u201cnot a great deal\u201d for either party.<\/p>\n

Salah will depart Anfield at the end of the season, with one year left remaining on his contract, with the 33-year-old\u2019s form having dipped this season.<\/p>\n

The Egyptian has netted just five times in the Premier League this season, after scoring 29 times in Liverpool\u2019s title-winning campaign last year.<\/p>\n

The forward has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, whilst Liverpool are looking for Salah\u2019s replacement<\/a> in the transfer market.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Mohamed Salah has \u2018issues\u2019 at Liverpool<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s former chief Keith Wyness \u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs \u2013 states that Liverpool should have acted and sold Salah last summer.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cA lot of issues have changed. His form has changed as well. So is it the right thing?<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely the right thing for him to go, certainly, but it should have been at the end of last season. But I\u2019m afraid it\u2019s often the case that people don\u2019t act, and you\u2019ve really got to think in football about going out at the top.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would have been the right solution for him, even the season before there were a lot of rumours, but certainly it\u2019s now getting to be not such a great deal for all parties concerned, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

New club emerges in Salah transfer race<\/p>\n

Sources have told Football Insider<\/strong> that Salah\u2019s expected move to the Saudi Pro League is in doubt<\/a>, and that a move to the MLS could be on the table.<\/p>\n

MLS club Inter Miami, owned by former England and Manchester United midfielder David Beckham, could offer Salah a contract to move to America.<\/p>\n

Salah would demand high wages, but a move to Inter Miami would see him link up with Lionel Messi and former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.<\/p>\n
