A campaigner has slammed the latest example of fly-tipping blighting his city. Photos show a large amount of rubbish dumped during the Easter bank holiday outside the entrance to Maindee primary school<\/a> in Rodney Road, Newport<\/a>.<\/p>\n Conservative campaigner Michael Enea said the inner-city neighbourhood of Maindee is “under a sea of fly-tipped black blags and discarded rubbish”.<\/p>\n A Freedom of Information request from Mr Enea recently revealed Newport was the fly-tipping capital of Wales last year with 7,318 incidents \u2013 some 63% higher than pre-Covid levels. We need to see council inspectors going through every dumped bag to look for addresses from discarded bills, letters and even medical prescriptions.<\/p>\n “They need to trace rubbish back to the source and issue heavy fines. Then name and shame repeat offenders.
