{"id":874629,"date":"2026-04-05T23:14:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T23:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/874629\/"},"modified":"2026-04-05T23:14:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T23:14:15","slug":"giggs-advises-manchester-united-on-the-midfield-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/874629\/","title":{"rendered":"Giggs advises Manchester United on the midfield deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welshman Ryan Giggs, the Manchester United legend, has offered some advice to Red Devils manager Michael Carrick regarding signing a new midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United need to sign new midfielders, particularly following the announcement that Brazilian Casemiro will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the current season.<\/p>\n<p>Giggs believes that Crystal Palace\u2019s Adam Warton, valued at \u00a370 million, should be one of United\u2019s top priorities in the summer transfer window, but he insists that his former club must sign midfielders, with Nottingham Forest\u2019s Elliot Anderson considered a leading candidate.<\/p>\n<p><b><strong>Read also: A massacre in the making&#8230; 8 Manchester United players to make way for the dream deal<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Giggs said in comments reported by the Metro: \u201cFirst and foremost, we need to deal with our players who are out on loan \u2013 Rashford, Sancho, Hoiland \u2013 but the priority is definitely midfield; I can definitely see two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cI always like having a left-footed player in the team, so I won\u2019t argue about Warton; I think he looks to me like a Manchester United player.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cHe\u2019s someone who can handle the ball, play it forward, run forward, and has Premier League experience. They all have Premier League experience, so I wouldn\u2019t mind that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Manchester United legend continued: \u201cI\u2019m a fan of Anderson too; he\u2019s a strong player. He plays every game, and I can see scenarios similar to Warton and Mino, or Anderson and Warton. All these scenarios are possible; it depends on the circumstances. British players are very expensive and it depends on what we can spend.
