Here is what you need to know about changes to refuse collection days and opening hours for recycling centres over the Easter 2025 period.<\/p>\n

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council<\/p>\n
This council has not yet updated its Easter 2025 schedule. <\/p>\n
Ards & North Down Borough Council<\/p>\n
Bin collection days will go back a day due to Easter Monday, and so will take place as follows \u2013 <\/p>\n
Normal Collection Date Due: Easter Monday (April 21)<\/p>\n
Will be collected on: Tuesday (April 22)<\/p>\n
Normal Collection Date Due: Tuesday (April 22)<\/p>\n
Will be collected on: Wednesday (April 23)<\/p>\n
Normal Collection Date Due: Wednesday (April 23)<\/p>\n
Will be collected on: Thursday (April 24)<\/p>\n
Normal Collection Date Due: Thursday (April 24)<\/p>\n
Will be collected on: Friday (April 25)<\/p>\n
Please make sure your container is set out for collection on the appropriate day by 7:00am.<\/p>\n
Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) at Balloo, Ballygowan, Comber, Donaghadee, Holywood, Kircubbin, Millisle, Newtownards and Portaferry will be closed on: Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 April 2025<\/p>\n
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council<\/p>\n
For those whose bins and boxes are due to be collected on April 21 (Easter Monday), collections will instead take place on Saturday April 19.<\/p>\n
On Easter Tuesday (April 22), collections will recontinue as normal.<\/p>\n
Recycling centres will be closed on Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Belfast City Council <\/p>\n
For those whose bins and boxes are due to be collected on April 21 (Easter Monday), collections will instead take place on Saturday April 19.<\/p>\n
On Easter Tuesday (April 22), collections will recommence as normal.<\/p>\n
These collection arrangements are the same for kerbside recycling boxes collected by Bryson Recycling.<\/p>\n
Recycling centres and civic amenity sites will be closed on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, but will resume opening hours as usual from Easter Tuesday onward. <\/p>\n
Causeway Coast and Glens Council<\/p>\n
Bin collections will take place as normal on Good Friday (Apr 18), Easter Monday (Apr 21) and Easter Tuesday (Apr 22).<\/p>\n
Householders and businesses are reminded to present their bin(s) no later than 7.00am on day of collection.<\/p>\n
Household Recycling Centres will be open as normal over the Easter holidays.<\/p>\n
Derry City & Strabane District Council<\/p>\n
This council has not yet updated its Easter 2025 schedule. <\/p>\n
Fermanagh & Omagh District Council<\/p>\n
This council has not yet updated its Easter 2025 schedule. <\/p>\n
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council<\/p>\n
Bin collections, kerbie and wheelie boxes will be collected as normal on Good Friday (April 18). <\/p>\n
Bins, kerbie and wheelie boxes to be collected on Easter Monday will instead be collected beforehand on Saturday, April 19.<\/p>\n
Bins to be collected on Easter Tuesday will instead be collected on the following Saturday, April 26. <\/p>\n
Kerbie and wheelie boxes however will continue to be collected as normal on Easter Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Household recycling centres will be open on Good Friday 9am-3pm. <\/p>\n
They will open 9am-5pm on Easter Saturday (April 19). <\/p>\n
They will be closed on both Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Mid & East Antrim Borough Council<\/p>\n
The council has varying bin collection changes going by each area (as seen below). <\/p>\n
If a date is not listed, then collections are scheduled as normal, the local authority added.<\/p>\n
Ballymena<\/p>\n

Household Recycling Centres (HRCs)<\/p>\n
Mid and East Antrim Council announced new opening hours for Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) across the borough from April 1, 2025.<\/p>\n
HRCs in Larne, Carrickfergus and Ballymena will be closed on Easter Monday, April 21 and Easter Tuesday, April 22.<\/p>\n
Mid Ulster Council<\/p>\n
Bins due to be collected on Easter Monday (April 21) and Easter Tuesday (April 22) will be collected as normal.<\/p>\n
The council reminded residents to leave their bin at the kerb by 7.30am.<\/p>\n
All recycling centres will be closed on Monday (April 21) and will reopen on Tuesday (April 22) \u2013 except Fivemiletown Recycling Centre which is closed on Tuesdays.<\/p>\n
Newry, Mourne & Down District Council<\/p>\n
All refuse collection and commercial waste collections will take place as normal on Easter Monday and Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The council said residents should have their bin at the kerbside for 6am to ensure it is collected and said no excess bags of waste will be collected.<\/p>\n
