The Duke of Sussex, along with the Duchess of Sussex, <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Meghan Markle\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/meghan-markle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Meghan Markle<\/a>, announced their decision to leave the Firm in January 2020, soon moving to <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Canada\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/canada\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Canada<\/a> before relocating to <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"California\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/california\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">California<\/a> where they still live.<\/p>\n<p>In his new biography, \u2018Queen Elizabeth II: A Personal History&#8217;, historian Hugo Vickers said prior to stepping down, Harry wanted &#8220;a half-in, half-out arrangement, whereby he would be self-financing but could still work for the Royal Family&#8221;. However, Mr Vickers said after a meeting with senior Royal officials in early 2020, he was told it was &#8220;either all in or all out&#8221;. &#8220;He [Harry] returned to Canada \u2014 reluctantly out,&#8221; Mr Vickers wrote, according to <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2026\/04\/08\/prince-harry-reluctantly-left-royal-family-given-ultimatum-27896711\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Metro<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>THIS IS A LIVE BLOG.
