A patient has been rushed to an Edinburgh hospital <\/a>after a collision on the M8. The crash, which involved two vehicles<\/a>, happened at around 10.30am on Friday, April 10.<\/p>\n

The road was restricted for some time, with drivers <\/a>warned of delays on Friday afternoon. Images from the scene show a crowd gathering with a car on its roof and debris strewn across the road.<\/p>\n

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.29am to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the M8 between Junctions 3 and 4.<\/p>\n

“We dispatched two ambulances and a special operations response team (SORT) to the scene. We transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”<\/p>\n

A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: “The M8 is restricted WESTBOUND due to a road traffic incident. Traffic is also slowing eastbound.<\/p>\n

“Drivers should use caution on approach and expect delays. Current delay approx. 14 mins.”<\/p>\n

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.<\/p>\n
