Miraculously, we\u2019re looking set for a beautiful weekend of sunny weather<\/a> across Greater Manchester – and I\u2019ve got the weekend off. I\u2019m feeling pretty ready for 5pm to roll around.<\/p>\n

Now perhaps it\u2019s just me, but sometimes I find myself stuck for the best ways to enjoy glorious weather. Don\u2019t get me wrong, I love sitting in a sunsoaked Stevenson Square or beer garden as much as the next person, but every so often I want to get out of my well-trodden haunts and do something really different.<\/p>\n

Luckily, the great What\u2019s On team always have me covered. They\u2019ve come up with six of their favourite ways to enjoy the sunny weather around the region, and it\u2019s great inspiration for those of us who tend to get a little stuck.<\/p>\n

So how about a trip to one of our region\u2019s fantastic parks, or even a venture out into the Peaks? Or you might fancy some al fresco dining in the city centre or in one of the wonderful towns dotted around us. You can read the whole list here<\/a> – and enjoy the sunshine!<\/p>\n

The building of the pyramid<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s one of Greater Manchester\u2019s most beloved landmarks – and now the Stockport<\/a> Pyramid is now open to the public as a banqueting hall.<\/p>\n

The Royal Nawaab is open for business<\/p>\n

The former Co-operative Bank offices have undergone a stunning transformation from abandoned corporate wasteland to the curry house of dreams.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve put together a photo gallery showing you the whole transformation, including behind the scenes shots, and they\u2019re well worth a look. You can peek inside the pyramid here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manc language<\/strong><\/p>\n

We all know Mancs have a special dialect that can be pretty incomprehensible to those of us not from here. But how much do you know?<\/p>\n

Well, you can put that to the test with our special quiz designed to quiz you on all words Manc. I\u2019ve done it, and as a Southerner (sorry), some of them truly baffled me.<\/p>\n

Still, I scored a somewhat respectable 10 out of 15 thanks to my nearly eight years in the region. Think you can beat me? You can take the quiz here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018There\u2019s nowhere else like it\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Manchester and music go hand in hand. Everyone knows the famous musicians that our city has produced, and so they should.<\/p>\n

And the musical prowess shows no signs of slowing down. Manchester saw the second biggest increase in music events last year – putting on 300 more shows in 2024 than in 2023. An increase that is down to the city’s vibrant and diverse scene, our music venues say.<\/p>\n

Coffee and cocktails in Campfield<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve lived in Manchester city centre<\/a> for coming up to five years now, and I\u2019d never heard of Campfield market halls.<\/p>\n

But developers are hoping to change that by reopening the building as offices, studios, events spaces, and a cafe-bar-restaurant – all inside a grade-II listed solarium.<\/p>\n
