At the same time, pension payments continue to rise, resulting in a higher number of retirees being slapped with a tax bill. A new <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"House of Commons\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/house-of-commons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">House of Commons<\/a> Library report published this week outlines the growing concern among Brits.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2021\/22, the personal allowance band has been frozen at \u00a312,570, however, the <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"DWP State Pension recipients could get \u00a380 a week extra &#039;with five-minute call&#039;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/finance\/personalfinance\/2052787\/dwp-state-pension-recipients-could-get-80-week-extra-five-minute-call\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">state pension<\/a> continues to increase due to the <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" title=\"Keir Starmer doubles down on triple lock policy when quizzed during PMQs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/politics\/2052613\/keir-starmer-triple-lock-pension-pmqs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">triple lock<\/a>.
