The winners of Nigel Farage\u2019s energy bill giveaway were two \u201cstaunch\u201d members of Reform\u2019s Wigan branch.<\/strong><\/p>\n Last month, Reform pledged to scrap VAT and green levies on household energy bills, in a move that the party says would save the average family \u00a3200 per year.<\/p>\n To promote the policy, Reform ran a prize draw for the winner and neighbours on their street to have their energy bills, up to a cost of \u00a33,500 per household, paid for a year.<\/p>\n Yesterday, a post<\/a> on Reform UK \u2013 Wigan\u2019s Facebook page said: \u201cWhat a fantastic surprise for two of our staunch Wigan Branch Members and ALL of their neighbours today, when Nigel Farage knocked on their door with @robertjenerick in tow, to present them as winners of the recent \u201cNigel Pay My Bills\u201d competition.\u201d<\/p>\n It appears that the competition winners, Ray and June, are not only \u201cstaunch\u201d party members but they were pictured with Farage at a Brexit Party event seven years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n On X, freelance journalist Don McGowan shared a photo<\/a> of Ray and June pictured with Farage at a Brexit Party rally in 2019.<\/p>\n One X user commented: \u201cWigan is one of the councils up for election in May. Is this legal?\u201d.<\/p>\n Broadcaster Narinder Kaur wrote: \u201cReform gave a couple of middle class boomers FREE ENERGY for a year. The comedy writes itself.\u201d<\/p>\n
