Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarry\u2019s public declarations have very real consequences,\u201d she continued. \u201cThe royal family\u2019s popularity took a massive nosedive <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/17\/royal-family\/netflix-blindsided-by-meghan-markle-and-prince-harrys-oprah-sit-down-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">after the Oprah interview<\/a> in which he and Meghan [Markle] made allegations of racism within the family. They were paralyzed and unable to fight those accusations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schofield went on to note how Sentebale\u2019s chairwoman, Dr. Sophie Chandauka, reportedly \u201cpresented Harry with analytics suggesting that his increasingly polarizing public profile was beginning to impact fundraising efforts\u201d for the charity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe says that moment marked the start of a deteriorating relationship between the duke and the organization\u2019s new leadership,\u201d Schofield explained. \u201cWhen tensions escalated, Harry resigned in a highly public fashion, while sources close to Harry <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/08\/05\/royal-family\/prince-harry-takes-swipe-at-sentebale-chair-after-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused Chandauka of orchestrating a \u2018hostile takeover\u2019<\/a> of the charity he founded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The royal commentator continued, \u201cHarry has made it a personal mission to challenge media narratives and hold journalists accountable for their reporting. It may offer a form of vindication for an institution that has stayed silent while Prince Harry broadcast his disputes publicly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sentebale, the charity Harry co-founded in his mom Princess Diana\u2019s honor in 2006, filed a defamation, libel and slander lawsuit against the Duke of Sussex on March 24.<\/p>\n<p>The charity also named Harry\u2019s close friend, former Sentebale trustee Mark Dyer, as a defendant, and accused the pair of launching a \u201ccoordinated adverse media campaign\u201d against Sentebale beginning in March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Harry (pictured here during a Sentebale event in August 2023) co-founded the charity in his mom Princess Diana\u2019s honor in 2006. Getty Images for Sentebale<\/p>\n<p>Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, with whom the duke co-founded Sentebale 20 years ago, both <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/03\/26\/royal-family\/prince-harry-quits-african-charity-founded-in-princess-dianas-honor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resigned from the charity last year<\/a> amid an ugly and very public falling out between the royal renegade and Chandauka.<\/p>\n<p>Chandauka <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/03\/entertainment\/prince-harrys-african-charity-investigated-over-bullying-and-racism-concerns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">went on to report Harry<\/a> to the regulatory Charity Commission for England and Wales for allegations of bullying and harassment.<\/p>\n<p>Although the commission launched an investigation into Chandauka\u2019s claims, it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/regulator-concludes-case-into-sentebale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found no evidence<\/a> of \u201cwidespread or systemic bullying, harassment, misogyny or misogynoir.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, the commission did chastise both Harry and Chandauka for allowing their dispute \u201cto play out publicly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Harry (pictured here in London in September 2025) resigned from Sentebale last year. Getty Images for Sentebale<\/p>\n<p>As for Sentebale\u2019s libel lawsuit, a spokesperson for both Harry and Dyer told Page Six that the pair \u201ccategorically reject\u201d the charity\u2019s \u201coffensive and damaging claims.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schofield told us that the embattled duke is \u201clikely to be frustrated\u201d by Chandauka\u2019s \u201caudacity\u201d in reportedly filing the defamation complaint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not only Sentebale sending the message that that is not an option for him, but also sending the message to other charities that Harry is a liability,\u201d Schofield concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s a Harry situation.
