{"id":888983,"date":"2026-04-12T12:08:20","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T12:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/888983\/"},"modified":"2026-04-12T12:08:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T12:08:20","slug":"inferno-crowned-best-in-show-at-shetlands-got-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/888983\/","title":{"rendered":"Inferno crowned best in show at Shetland\u2019s Got Talent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ALMOST \u00a36,000 was raised for Cancer Research UK as a packed Mareel crowned Shetland\u2019s Got Talent\u2019s winners for 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dance troupe Inferno were the big winners on the night, with eight acts wowing the sold-out crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Comp\u00e8red by Martin and Jacob Henderson, the event was led by judges Kathryn Gordon, Lewie Peterson and Megan Nisbet.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s winners Mirrie Stars of the Eric Gray @ Seafield got the night underway, before the first of this year\u2019s competitors, Kaylee Ann Best, received a great round of applause for drumming along to Footloose.<\/p>\n<p>Leah Bruce sang Cover Me in Sunshine before Corey Burns gave the drums a real work out playing along to Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold in memory of his father.<\/p>\n<p>Hailey Williamson concluded the first half performing Naughty from the musical Matilda.<\/p>\n<p>Lorraine Peterson opened the second half singing Ode to Billy Joe, and was followed by the spectacular Crowned in Pink who danced to Sit Still, Look Pretty by Daya.<\/p>\n<p>Scottish Parliament election ads3 of 3<\/p>\n<p>Jacky Williamson performed He Needs Me and the second half was concluded by Inferno performing Beetlejuice.<\/p>\n<p>The judges announced Inferno, Corey Burns and Jacky Williamson as the top three acts and voting, by cash donation, got underway.<\/p>\n<p>It was Inferno who were announced as the winners after this, and they returned to the stage to a standing ovation and ended the night with the audience dancing on their feet.<\/p>\n<p>Relay for Life Shetland chair\u00a0Kerry Llewellyn thanked everyone involved and reminded the crowd to come out again on Saturday 30 May at Clickimin Leisure Centre for Relay for Life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shetland News<\/strong> is asking its readers to consider paying for membership to get additional perks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Removal of third-party ads;<\/li>\n<li>Bookmark posts to read later;<\/li>\n<li>Exclusive curated weekly newsletter;<\/li>\n<li>Hide membership messages;<\/li>\n<li>Comments open for discussion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you appreciate what we do and feel strongly about impartial local journalism, then please become a member of <strong>Shetland News<\/strong> by either making a single payment, or setting up a monthly, quarterly or yearly subscription.<\/p>\n<p class=\"row-text sign-in-message\">Already a member?
