THE dad of a girl who started the menopause at 13 says the \u201cdirty\u201d superhospital where she was secretly given powerful medicines to dodge bugs should be \u201cbulldozed\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mark Bisset, 48, blamed the \u201ccocktail\u201d of drugs that daughter Charly received\u00a0at the \u00a0Queen Elizabeth University campus for stopping her body producing hormones.<\/p>\n

The schoolgirl also now suffers from life-threatening adrenal insufficiency meaning her organs can shut down if she falls ill.<\/p>\n

She was being treated for leukaemia<\/a> following a diagnosis aged six when NHS Greater Glasgow<\/a> and Clyde chiefs ordered patients onto germ-busting prophylaxis drugs after an infection spike.<\/p>\n

Mark, from Peebles, said Charly was on at least five drugs with side effects including digestive issues, stunted bone development and deafness. \u00a0<\/p>\n

He warned: \u201cCharly was on a cocktail of drugs but they didn\u2019t stop her getting at least three infections. The hospital<\/a> was dirty and contaminated.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said Charly got a daily 600mg dose of antifungal posaconazol.
It is known to amplify the hormone-suppressing effects of steroids, including the prednisolone she took twice a day.<\/p>\n

Mark revealed: \u201cCharly started going through menopause<\/a> last year at 13. She started having these wild mood swings, would get really aggressive and fly off the handle at nothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaft stuff like getting the wrong kind of snacks. She started complaining about fatigue, brain fog and muscle and joint pain. A blood test confirmed everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

A string of patients have died from bugs<\/a> linked to the water<\/a> and air supply at the hub.<\/p>\n

We told last month how medics previously refused to let a priest baptise a critically-ill baby with tap water later linked to\u00a0deaths.<\/p>\n

And Mark insisted there were \u201cclear failures\u201d in the design of the \u00a3842million complex, which opened in April 2014.<\/p>\n

He hit out: \u201cThe place is only a decade old. What is it going to be like in 40 or 50 years?<\/p>\n

\u201cIt should be bulldozed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Scottish Government<\/a> has said it is \u201cdeeply sorry\u201d for issues experienced by patients.\u00a0<\/p>\n

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: \u201cProphylaxis can be an important\u00a0part of treatment, helping prevent potentially life-threatening infections.
