Rory McIlroy has won back-to-back Masters titles at Augusta<\/a>, holding his nerve at the 18th to finish one shot clear of Scottie Scheffler and claim a second consecutive Green Jacket – with the Express revealing how the golfing legend stands to pocket.<\/p>\n

The Northern Irishman carded a one-under par 71 in his final round to seal the victory \u2014 joining an elite group<\/a> of just four players to have won the Masters in successive years, alongside Nick Faldo, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.<\/p>\n

The opening major of the season is considered amongst the most prestigious tournaments on the circuit and has already served up heartbreak and high drama for several of the sport’s leading figures. Bryson DeChambeau, numbered amongst the pre-tournament favourites, tumbled out before the weekend arrived.<\/p>\n

Rory McIlroy climbed to the summit of the leaderboard at the midway stage, sparking a sarcastic reaction from a LIV Golf star after his commanding second round, with the Masters confirming it will become the richest men’s Major championship in history.<\/p>\n

Last year, the overall purse reached $21 million, rising $1 million from the previous year. This year, the total prize fund stands at $22.5 million, with the victor claiming a handsome $4.5 million.<\/p>\n

McIlroy collected $4.2 million when he secured the career grand slam. Success at Augusta National offers far more substantial rewards beyond mere financial gain.<\/p>\n

“This is going to be the first time I drive down Magnolia Lane, and it’s all going to be about enjoying my week,” said McIlroy ahead of the 2026 tournament.<\/p>\n

“You know, enjoying the perks that come along with being a Masters Champion. Having a parking space in the Champions car park to use the Champions locker room. You know, hosting the dinner on Tuesday night.”<\/p>\n

The top prize has continued to increase compared with previous years. In 2024, Scheffler banked $3.6 million, while Jon Rahm secured $3.24 million the year before.<\/p>\n
