The advisory, shared on social media platform X (previously Twitter), talks about the importance of responsible online behaviour and asks internet users to not fall for any misinformation. The IT ministry posted a list of \u2018dos and don\u2019ts\u2019 on Twitter and asked the users to be vigilant and responsible. \u201cCritical Online Safety Alert always follow cybersecurity precautions. Stay cautious while online\u2014don\u2019t fall for traps or misinformation. The ministry has also laid down some important points to keep in mind as cybersecurity precautions. <\/p>\n<p>MeitY lays down Do\u2019s and Don\u2019ts to for internet users to <\/p>\n<p>Dos<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Share only official advisories, helplines and verified relief updates<\/li>\n<li>Fact-check news with official sources before sharing<\/li>\n<li>Report fake news immediately <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don&#8217;ts <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t share troop movements<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t forward unverified information<\/li>\n<li>Avoid posts that may incite violence or communal tensions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The IT ministry has also said that the users can report any misinformation on WhatsApp (8799711259) and via email (socialmedia@pib.gov.in). <\/p>\n<p>Government advisory to OTT channels<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Information &amp; Broadcasting has issued an important advisory to OTT platforms, media streaming services, and intermediaries operating in India.
