The best and worst secondary schools for pupil progression in Bristol have been revealed.<\/p>\n

Data from the UK government shows the city currently has five secondary schools<\/a> being rated as “well above average” for its Progress 8 scores.<\/p>\n

These are Bristol Cathedral Choir School, Bristol Metropolitan Academy, Redland Green School, Trinity Academy and Montpelier High School.<\/p>\n

At the other end of the spectrum, Bristol has eight secondary schools rated as “well below average” for its Progress 8 scores.<\/p>\n

The UK government website describes Progress 8 scores as the academic progress that pupils make from the end of key stage 2 to the end of key stage 4. This is based on eight qualifications.<\/p>\n

This is how every secondary school in the city ranked based on its latest Progress 8 scores:<\/p>\n

These are the final results for pupils who completed key stage 4 in the summer of 2024.<\/p>\n

2. Bedminster Down School<\/strong>: -03 (Below average)<\/p>\n

3. Blaise High School<\/strong>: 0.3 (Below average)<\/p>\n

4. Bridge Learning Campus<\/strong>: -0.75 (Well below average)<\/p>\n

5. Bristol Brunel Academy<\/strong>: 0.24 (Above average)<\/p>\n

6. Bristol Cathedral Choir School: <\/strong>0.55 (Well above average)<\/p>\n

7. Bristol Free School<\/strong>: 0.43 (Above average)<\/p>\n

8. Bristol Metropolitan Academy<\/strong>: 0.54 (Well above average)<\/p>\n

9. Cotham School<\/strong>: 0.1 (average)<\/p>\n

10. Venturers’ Academy<\/strong>: -1.9 (well below average)<\/p>\n

11. Elmfield School for Deaf Children<\/strong>: -0.81 (average)<\/p>\n
