That really would [confuse the Americans].<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think [it\u2019s] probably best just to leave it because it looks unkind, it looks unnecessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-mce-linkchecker-status=\"valid\">The expert continued: &#8220;The (late) Queen gave them the titles, let them keep them &#8211; they\u2019re going to be \u2018H and M\u2019 anyway.<\/p>\n<p data-mce-linkchecker-status=\"valid\">&#8220;I think the best thing is to leave them, ignore them, and let them get on with it &#8211; which is really what the Palace and the Royal Family are doing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite no longer being a working royal, Meghan <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/2025424\/meghan-markle-name-sussex-title-brand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">did speak about the Sussex name in her Netflix series<\/a> &#8216;With Love, Meghan&#8217;, mentioning how important it is to her from a personal point of view.<\/p>\n<p>When called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/meghan-markle\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan Markle<\/a> by her friend and American actress Mindy Kaling, the duchess, 40, replied: &#8220;It&#8217;s so funny, too, that you keep saying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/latest\/meghan-markle\" data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|AutoLink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan Markle<\/a>. You know I&#8217;m Sussex now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You have kids, and you go, &#8216;no I share my name with my children&#8217;\u2026I didn&#8217;t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go &#8216;this is our family name, our little family name&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/meghan-markle-intimate-interview-prince-harry-kids-as-ever-brand-netflix-series-exclusive-11689103\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">also told People:<\/a> &#8220;It\u2019s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn\u2019t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children. I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together.
