This <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/publications\/implementing-regulation-customer-switching-c20262310_en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Implementing Regulation<\/a> \u2013 secondary legislation linked to\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=uriserv:OJ.L_.2019.158.01.0125.01.ENG&amp;toc=OJ:L:2019:158:TOC\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Electricity Directive<\/a> (EU\/2019\/944) \u2013 will help ensure that Europe\u2019s energy market works better for consumers by supporting affordable energy and strengthening the ability of consumers to mitigate price increases. As outlined in last month\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/news\/commission-boost-access-affordable-and-clean-energy-all-europeans-2026-03-10_en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Citizens\u2019 Energy Package<\/a>, it reinforces the EU\u2019s commitment to a consumer-centred energy transition.\u00a0The new rules will enable the back-office process of switching supplier to be completed within 24 hours by the end of 2026.
