A man was left seriously injured following a hit and run on Slade Road, Erdington<\/p>\n

An investigation has been launched after a man was left seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run.<\/p>\n

The victim is believed to have been struck by a vehicle which then left the scene on Slade Road, Stockland Green, just after 6am on Sunday (April 12).<\/p>\n

He was treated by paramedics before being being taken to Heartlands Hospital where his condition is said to be “serious.”<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> are trying to piece together what happened and are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with dashcam to contact them urgently.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police said: “We’re investigating after a man was found with injuries in Slade Road, Stockland Green, at just after 6am on Sunday (12 April).<\/p>\n

“It’s understood he was hit by a car which left the scene.<\/p>\n

“The man is currently in a serious condition in hospital and we’re continuing our enquiries to establish exactly what happened.”<\/p>\n

A spokeswoman from West Midlands Ambulance Service<\/a> said: “We were called to Slade Road, Stockland Green at 6.01am on Sunday to reports of a pedestrian who had been involved in a collision with a car.<\/p>\n

“One ambulance attended the scene and assessed a man who had sustained potentially serious injuries in the collision.<\/p>\n

“He was conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further care.”<\/p>\n
