{"id":89445,"date":"2025-05-10T07:05:20","date_gmt":"2025-05-10T07:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/89445\/"},"modified":"2025-05-10T07:05:20","modified_gmt":"2025-05-10T07:05:20","slug":"bulgarias-president-to-submit-request-to-parliament-to-call-eurozone-referendum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/89445\/","title":{"rendered":"Bulgaria&#8217;s president to submit request to parliament to call eurozone referendum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-ad__placeholder__logo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/logo-euronews-grey-6-180x22.svg.svg+xml\" width=\"180\" height=\"22\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>Bulgaria&#8217;s President Rumen Radev has said he is submitting a request to parliament to hold a referendum on whether the country adopts the euro as its currency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bulgaria, as a full member of the European Union, faces a strategic decision &#8211; the introduction of the single European currency,&#8221; Radev said in a national address.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/icon-cross-10x10-grey-6.svg.svg+xml\" width=\"10\" height=\"10\" alt=\"Close advertising\" fetchpriority=\"high\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The referendum will be a test of the National Assembly&#8217;s democracy and will show who is following the principles of democracy and who is denying Bulgarians the right to determine their future.
