Coronation Street<\/a> fans have spotted an hilarious blunder in a recent episode where poor Freddie the dog turns into a handbag.<\/p>\n Yes, really.<\/p>\n The hilarious scene saw Cassie Plummer <\/a>(Claire Sweeney<\/a>) sitting in the Rovers with Freddie in her lap, pulling faces at Steve McDonald<\/a> (Simon Gregson<\/a>) across the room.<\/p>\n Prior to this, Steve had paid Cassie a visit at home to apologise for his behaviour after their brief dalliance at the Metcalfe\u2019s house<\/a>.<\/p>\n When he told her he wanted to continue seeing her, Cassie turned him down, recalling how Evelyn Plummer<\/a> (Maureen Lipman<\/a>) had given her some advice.<\/p>\n She explained how Evelyn had told her that \u2018you teach people what\u2019s acceptable by what you accept\u2019, and that by taking Steve back she would be facilitating his behaviour.<\/p>\n When the pair later ran into each other in the Rovers, Cassie was accompanied by Evelyn and Freddie the dog \u2013 though not for long.<\/p>\n Fans took to social media to point out the hilarious blunder that saw Cassie go from stroking Freddie in her lap to suddenly clutching a handbag.<\/p>\n \u2018How did the dog turn into a handbag [though]?\u2019 Andrew asked with a series of laughing emojis.<\/p>\n \u2018This would have been a TV Burp classic,\u2019 William said, referring to comedian Harry Hill\u2019s TV show, while Kate posted a gif of Harry himself.<\/p>\n During the scene, you can hear the sound of a dog whimpering, as though Freddie had been put down on the floor, though it certainly looks more like he vanishes into thin air!<\/p>\n \t\t Ever since his debut in 2023, fans have been completely obsessed with the \u2018adorable\u2019 Freddie.<\/p>\n He arrived on the street after Roy Cropper\u2019s<\/a> (David Neilson<\/a>) friend Melvyn fell ill, with Roy inheriting him on a permanent basis after Melvyn\u2019s sad death.<\/p>\n Evelyn, who had recently lost her own pooch Cerberus<\/a>, was horrified to learn that Roy had taken Freddie to a local dog\u2019s home, and was relieved when he later changed his mind about giving up the dog.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDid you spot the blunder?<\/p>\n Since then, Evelyn and Roy have shared the responsibility of Freddie\u2019s care, with Evelyn regularly taking him for walks.<\/p>\n Like most Corrie characters, Freddie has been no stranger to dramatic storylines during his time on the show.<\/p>\n Last year, Roy\u2019s furry friend was kidnapped<\/a> by internet sleuths who demanded that Roy confess to the murder of Lauren Bolton<\/a> (Cait Fitton<\/a>) in exchange for Freddie\u2019s safe return.<\/p>\n Fortunately, Freddie survived the ordeal and was soon reunited with his loving family, and Roy was rightfully released from prison when his innocence became clear.<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow![\"Coronation](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/SEI_247005928-70ec.jpg\")
