It\u2019s actually all about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wellness\/28955439\/best-at-home-pilates-exercises-toned-tummy-waist\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pilates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pilates uses slow, controlled movements to improve your posture, balance, flexibility and strength.<\/p>\n<p>And exercises inspired by this approach are a great way to work your legs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s evident in celebrities like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/margot-robbie\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Margot Robbie<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/dua-lipa\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dua Lipa<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/jennifer-aniston\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jennifer Aniston<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/hailey-bieber\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hailey Bieber<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/who\/miley-cyrus\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miley Cyrus<\/a>, who are all fans of Pilates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/complete-pilates.co.uk\/meet-the-team\/susie-martin\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Susie Martin<\/a>, a chartered physiotherapist and Pilates instructor at Complete Pilates, tells Sun Health: \u201cEvery time you contract a muscle group, you increase activity in that muscle through improving the neural pathways from your brain to that muscle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPilates exercises can be considered low-load strength training exercises, and strengthening exercises are what increase muscle tissue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis can help to create definition in the upper legs as many of the exercises activate the muscles in the thighs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Susie has put together a low intensity lower body workout that challenges your quads and hamstrings, the muscles which sit on the front and back of your thighs, respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She recommends doing it two to three times per week, aiming for three sets of each exercise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe number of reps that are needed depends on the amount of effort and load that you are using,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>How to do reformer Pilates at home with just two flannels and a rolling pin<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou want to feel like you are approaching fatigue &#8211; that is, that you can&#8217;t continue to do more reps of an exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But how many you can do will depend on you and your fitness level.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re able to do 30 reps without getting tired, while maintaining good form, then you will need to make it a bit harder by adding resistance in the form of weights or bands.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re comfortable using heavier weights such as dumbbells, aim for eight to 15 reps.<\/p>\n<p>1. diet and cardio to target belly fat, and exercises to sculpt the abs.<\/p>\n<p>What you eat can be just as important as your workouts &#8211; if not more.<\/p>\n<p>For your abdominal muscles to be visible, your body fat needs to be very low, which the PT said is achievable through calorie counting or fasting.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Remember, abs are largely\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/health\/26487649\/reset-diet-blasts-belly-fat-reverses-ageing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made in the kitchen<\/a>, so reducing your weekly pint by one can bring you closer to achieving those abs,&#8221; Will says. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Diet is probably more important than training when it comes to reducing body fat, but training is also important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and bone density.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking to lose some body fat, Will suggests trying some &#8220;steady-state cardio&#8221;, which includes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/topic\/cycling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cycling<\/a>, incline walking on the treadmill, walking and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/topic\/swimming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">swimming<\/a>, a few times a week.<\/p>\n<p>So, with your diet and cardio needs taken care of, Will shares five ab exercises that can help you sculpt the muscles underneath &#8211;
