The Liverpool Empire theatre is hosting Legally Blonde this week<\/p>\n
A Liverpool Empire theatre show was stopped during a performance as fans claim the show is \u201ccursed\u201d. Legally Blonde, the award-winning musical based on the iconic 2001 film, arrived in the city earlier this week.<\/a><\/p>\n Running until tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, the musical has taken over the theatre stage for a number of days, bringing with it an incredible cast and original music. The musical<\/a> follows Elle Woods on her transformation from fashionista to legal expert at Harvard Law School as she tries to win back her ex-boyfriend.<\/p>\n The film of the same name starred Reese Witherspoon and became a huge hit. Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island star Amber Davies stars at Elle Woods.<\/a><\/p>\n The theatre star recently originated the role of Jordan Baker in the London production of The Great Gatsby, starred as Vivian Ward in the UK tour of Pretty Woman, Lorraine Baines in the West End production of Back to the Future The Musical and Campbell in Bring It On at London\u2019s South Bank Centre.<\/p>\n George Crawford and Amber Davies as Emmett and Elle(Image: Legally Blonde)<\/p>\n However, during the Thursday, April 16 performance, the show was stopped because of technical difficulties. A video posted to TikTok shows a man on stage telling the audience: \u201cGood evening everyone, we are having very difficult problems with the sound system. The system has gone down, and we are still trying to fix it.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are very close to the end of the performance and want you to see that so please give us a few moments as we try and resolve this.\u201d The video ended with a round of applause from the audience.<\/p>\n The ECHO reached out <\/a>to the Liverpool Empire Theatre for further information. A spokesperson said: \u201cThere was a show stop towards the end of the sold-out evening performance of Legally Blonde on Thursday, April 16 due to a temporary technical fault in the sound system.<\/p>\n “An announcement was made to patrons from the stage by the company manager and the show resumed a short time later with no further issues. The Empire Theatre looks forward to this weekend’s performances of Legally Blonde, which is receiving enthusiastic feedback and standing ovations.”<\/p>\n Leading lady Amber, and subsequently the musical, has been at the heart of a lot of conversations online<\/a> over the past year.
