A GLASGOW tourist has undergone life-saving surgery after a horror scooter crash in Bali. <\/p>\n

Euan Kay was left fighting for his life with two bleeds on the brain, dislodged bones and serious facial injuries after the terrifying smash on April 15.<\/p>\n

Medics told the 26-year-old\u2019s family that he had just a 30 to 70 per cent chance of survival unless they operated immediately.<\/p>\n

His devastated loved ones launched a desperate GoFundMe appeal earlier this week to raise \u00a320,000 for the emergency op to save the Newton Mearns lad.<\/a><\/p>\n

Hundreds of generous donors raised \u00a342,000 \u2013 more than double the original target.<\/p>\n

The family have now revealed that the University of Strathclyde graduate underwent an eight hour operation which successfully managed to stop the brain bleeds.<\/p>\n

He is now in a \u201cstable\u201d condition and remains on a drip in ICU to reduce swelling.<\/p>\n

Posting an update to the fundraiser<\/a>, his sister Nicola said: \u201cThe neurosurgeon is happy with the operation. He has managed to stabilise things and stop the bleeds.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has reassured us that this should resolve itself now.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just monitoring and keeping a close eye now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Euan is now waiting for further surgery<\/a> to fix his broken bones with plates and screws.<\/p>\n

We told previously how Euan had stopped off in Bali for a holiday before heading back to Glasgow<\/a> after a year in Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was wearing a helmet at the time of the smash but suffered critical injuries when his bike careered off the road during a torrential downpour.<\/p>\n

His heartbroken mum Angela, who has now arrived in Bali, thanked donors: \u201cI cannot believe the amount of support and generosity our family has received due to this terrible accident concerning Euan.<\/p>\n

\u201cKnowing that I have a financial backup through this just giving page means I am not stressed out about paying for hospital, medication and whatever else costs we need for his recovery. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been such a wonderful show of support from all friends and family. I cannot thank you all enough. I will update you all when I get to Bali and see Euan. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
