PRINCE Harry has been criticised for having a history of being \u201cdisrespectful\u201d, according to royal experts.<\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex sent shockwaves through the royal family<\/a> doing a bombshell 30-minute tirade<\/a> on BBC following his legal defeat surrounding his security.<\/p>\n

This followed his critical memoir Spare and his explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey<\/a> after he and Meghan Markle<\/a> stepped down as senior royals in 2020.<\/p>\n

However, royal author Robert Jobson claims Prince Harry, 40, has always had \u201can edge\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Sun\u2019s Royal Exclusive<\/a> show, he said: \u201cHe was quite chippy\u2026 to a degree. I think he always had an edge.\u201d<\/p>\n

Legendary Sun photographer Arthurs Edwards disagreed, saying: \u201cWhen we were on the road with Harry, we never got that feeling that he hated the press then. He was very cooperative with the press.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Robert retorted: \u201cWell, he did certain things, didn’t he? I mean, there were things I remember he did with you that you didn’t particularly like.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was quite disrespectful at times, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

The royal author then pointed out the moment Prince Harry<\/a> cheekily put a hand print of purple paint on the renowned photographer\u2019s forehead during a visit to a youth centre in Auckland in 2015.<\/p>\n

Robert added: \u201cI remember that time he put his hand in paint on your head.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clearly unphased by the incident, Arthur defended Harry saying: \u201cYeah, but that was because I’d gone on television that morning and said he was going bald.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was having a bit of a come back. That was fun.<\/p>\n

His round-the-clock security<\/a> was axed when Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.<\/p>\n

This month he suffered yet another humiliating defeat as he fought to get it back.<\/p>\n

Harry insisted he is a victim of an establishment stitch-up and said he \u201ccan\u2019t see a world\u201d in which he would bring his wife and kids here.<\/p>\n

The royal claimed he did not want his father to intervene in the security row, adding: \u201cI asked him to step out of the way and let the experts do their jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201dHe claimed there had been \u201cinterference\u201d by the Royal \u00adHousehold in the 2020 decision, which he said resulted in his status as the most at-risk royal being downgraded to the least at risk \u201covernight\u201d.<\/p>\n

Despite Harry\u2019s claims, it is understood the Royal Household\u2019s role and power on the committee is minimal \u2014 and rests solely working around family members\u2019 diaries.<\/p>\n

A Palace<\/a> spokesman said of the long-running security battle: \u201cAll of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex has lived in California<\/a> with his wife Meghan Markle<\/a> since 2020 after they dramatically quit their jobs<\/a> as working royals and moved across the pond.<\/p>\n

Katie Nicholl, who is Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show<\/a> that Megxit<\/a> did not come as a surprise to her.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, the commentator explained: “Anyone who knows Harry is aware he’s always wanted a way out of the Royal Family<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“He’s said multiple times on the record that he wished he’d never been born a prince.<\/p>\n

“I think he really is living the life he wants to now. It’s very, very sad that it’s played out the way it has.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement<\/a> made on the Sussexes’ Instagram<\/a> account as they stepped back in 2020, the pair wrote: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.<\/p>\n

“We intend to step back as \u2018senior\u2019 members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.<\/p>\n

“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.<\/p>\n

“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.<\/p>\n

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.\u201d<\/p>\n
