<\/p>\nFormer Tory MEP David Campbell Bannerman has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of being “embarrassed” about Brexit successes.<\/p>\n
Speaking on GB News, Campbell Bannerman criticised the Prime Minister’s approach to recent post-Brexit trade deals.<\/p>\n
His comments come as the UK has secured significant trade agreements with both the US and India in recent days.<\/p>\n
Campbell Bannerman suggested Starmer needs to embrace Brexit achievements rather than downplaying them.<\/p>\n

“What Starmer has to do is be more pro-Brexit,” Campbell Bannerman stated during his GB News appearance.<\/p>\n
“He’s almost embarrassed that these two deals wouldn’t have happened in the EU. I worked directly in the EU-India trade agreement and it’s still being negotiated 15 years later, it took us just four years.”<\/p>\n
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n Starmer was handed a crushing blow in the local elections last week<\/p>\n KEIR STARMER<\/p>\n The former MEP argued that the Prime Minister should take pride in Brexit achievements rather than appearing reluctant to celebrate them.<\/p>\n He pointed to recent trade deals as evidence of Brexit delivering tangible benefits for Britain.<\/p>\n The US and UK recently agreed a “breakthrough” trade deal that slashes tariffs on British cars and eliminates duties on UK steel and aluminium.<\/p>\n The agreement also opens the UK market to American farmers while maintaining Britain’s ban on US chlorine-washed chicken and hormone-treated beef.<\/p>\n David Campbell Bannerman joined Dawn Neesom on GB News<\/p>\n GB NEWS<\/p>\n Meanwhile, India and the UK have signed what has been described as “the biggest bilateral trade deal in Trump 2.0”.<\/p>\n For the UK, this represents its largest trade pact since leaving the European Union in 2020.<\/p>\n Campbell Bannerman warned that Starmer faces political risks in Brexit-supporting areas.<\/p>\n “In the Red Wall, you’ve got a huge regret factor amongst Labour voters, less than two thirds are happy about the way they voted just last year,” he said.<\/p>\n “Starmer has got to watch out.
