Bryson DeChambeau has withdrawn from LIV Golf Mexico City due to a wrist injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The American, a two-time winner so far this season, was sitting two over par and 16 strokes behind third-round leader Jon Rahm<\/a>, ahead of the final round.<\/p>\n

“I experienced some discomfort in my wrist during yesterday’s round and have decided to withdraw from the final round of LIV Golf<\/a> Mexico City to prevent further injury,” DeChambeau shared in a statement Sunday.<\/p>\n

“Not how I wanted this week to go, but wishing the Crushers a strong finish.<\/p>\n

“I’m going to take a few days to get evaluated and hope to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia.”<\/p>\n

DeChambeau was off the leading pace at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City, having followed back-to-back 71s with a two-over 73 on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Crushers GC captain had vocalized frustrations with the course <\/a>on Thursday.<\/p>\n

On the 16th hole, DeChambeau sent his ball into the rough and discovered his lie was caught between exposed mud and a tuft of grass after a wayward shot from the bunker, which sent him into a fit of rage.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou got destroyed grass\u2026 oh, this is rough?\u201d cameras caught him saying.<\/p>\n

His meltdown came days after a disappointing outing at the 2026 Masters, where he missed the cut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It also capped a tough week for LIV Golf, with speculation funding for the league could soon be pulled<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Amid reports that Saudi Arabia could pull its financial commitments, CEO Scott O\u2019Neil has walked back previous comments about the future, and stated the tour is only funded through the rest of the year.<\/p>\n

“The reality is that you\u2019re funded through the season, and then you work like crazy as a business to create a business and a business plan to keep us going,\u201d O\u2019Neil said in a now-removed interview with TNT Sports.<\/p>\n

“But that\u2019s not different from any other private equity-funded business in the history of mankind.”<\/p>\n

Those comments follow on from a leaked email sent by O’Neil to staff, in which he stated the season will continue ‘exactly as planned, uninterrupted and at full throttle.’<\/p>\n

As DeChambeau’s statement noted, the next LIV Golf event will head to Virginia.<\/p>\n

It’s scheduled to take place from May 7-10 at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.<\/p>\n

The American star himself is also scheduled to feature at the PGA Championship one week later, where he will be hoping to improve on his showing at the Masters.<\/p>\n
