Rose McGowan<\/a> has shared an update on her life in Mexico<\/a>, where she’s lived since she fled Hollywood during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 51-year-old actress \u2014 who rose to fame with roles in Scream and Charmed \u2014flew back to the states for 90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While chatting on a panel with former co-star Holly Marie Combs, Rose dished on how she’s faring in Yucat\u00e1n.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘My father lived in Mexico for 35 years. It is an incredible country. It is so wildly geographically diverse, culturally diverse and just very, very special. There’s so much joy,’ she stated, according to an account from\u00a0People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She added, ‘My favorite word in Spanish is alegr\u00eda, which means joy, and there’s so much of that there, and color and passion and fun.’<\/p>\n

The silver screen siren also described the Latin American country as ‘just different.’<\/p>\n

Before leaving Hollywood for a more relaxed lifestyle, she had been a prominent voice in the #MeToo movement, which saw movie mogul Harvey Weinstein brought to justice for sexual violence against women.<\/p>\n

Looking back, Rose shared during the 90s Con conversation, ‘I had to talk for a lot of years, kind of more than normal people might.’<\/p>\n

‘There’s a point where I just got really talked out. I just wanted to listen,’ she reflected, adding, ‘I wanted silence, and I wanted to listen more than I wanted to talk.’<\/p>\n

The actress acknowledged that her move hasn’t been all smooth sailing.<\/p>\n

‘There’s things about it that are difficult, just like anywhere, and it’s certainly a challenge sometimes, doing things when, at first, you don’t really know the language,’ she admitted.<\/p>\n

‘You’re navigating a totally different system. You learn very quickly, though,’ she noted.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram in May, where she engages 866,000 followers, McGowan uploaded a photo of herself wearing a leopard print mini dress in Guadalajara.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Thursday Rose posted an Instagram video driving a cart around Home Depot as she revealed a black boot on her foot due to some kind of injury.\u00a0She didn’t explain what happened, but wrote in a playful caption: ‘I can still drive at Home Depot’<\/p>\n

And on Thursday she posted a brief snippet driving a cart around Home Depot as she revealed a black boot on her foot due to some kind of injury.<\/p>\n

She didn’t explain what happened, but wrote in a playful caption: ‘I can still drive at Home Depot.’<\/p>\n

In 2021 the star shared that she had become a permanent Mexico resident, nearly one year after relocating.<\/p>\n

Appearing on The Dab Roast, she stated: ‘I just got my permanent residency card from Mexico, and I’m so grateful to have it. This is a really healing land here and it is truly magical.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

She had previously announced online, ‘I’m in a place called Coba (on the Yucatan peninsula).<\/p>\n

‘I knew [Covid-19] was going to get really bad in America and I had a moment to figure out where I wanted to be. My lease was up in New York so I came here to Mexico where I’m living for a third of the price. It’s beautiful here.’<\/p>\n
