Photo: Twan Wiermans<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Eastern\u00a0German state Saxony is facing a renewed fight against African Swine Fever\u00a0(ASF).\u00a0Late March,\u00a0a report came in of an infected wild boar \u2013 and mid-April the number of newly infected animals has risen to 17.  The developments are not what the local authorities had been hoping. Early February, the state\u00a0had achieved the status \u201cfree from ASF\u201d as no new infected wild boar had been found for one\u00a0entire\u00a0year.
