Locals in Craigmillar<\/a> and Niddrie will be able to take part in a prize bingo and live music night on 26 April as the monthly event returns to the area.<\/p>\n

Previously featuring special guests such as broadcaster, Grant Stott, the event has become popular within the community.<\/p>\n

Calum Baird, a local event organiser, and James Pheely, who runs the White House Community Caf\u00e9 in Niddrie<\/a>, paired up in January to organise the evenings.<\/p>\n

Calum said: \u201cI myself have organised local events in the community. <\/p>\n

\u201cI used to do \u2018Take the Stage\u2019 open mics, which I started, where we\u2019ve done live music nights with people in the community. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd James, at the White House, was saying a lot of people are asking for prize bingo. So I thought we could merge them together.\u201d <\/p>\n

He added: \u201cA lot of people have been really enjoying it, because what a lot have been saying that there\u2019s not many things to do at the weekend, such as a social event in the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s quite nice for people to socialise and take part in the bingo and see people in the community that they\u2019ve not met before.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event takes place on the last Sunday of every month, with the next bingo night set to take place on Sunday 26 April from 6pm to 8.30pm.<\/p>\n

The previous night in May featured a set from local musician Chris Tracey and was attended by broadcaster Grant Stott.<\/p>\n

On the future of the event, Calum said: \u201cI\u2019m hoping that event will grow. Hopefully, we get the max capacity of 30 people in there and people can just enjoy theirselves.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just hoping it carries on as long as it\u2019s possible to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n
