Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club <\/a>wants to throw open its doors to the public, sell booze to players on the course from a vehicle and increase opening times until 1am.<\/p>\n

The move will be considered at Highland Council\u2019s licensing board next week after the golf club made an application for a major variation on its current license.<\/p>\n

Last year the club launched a determined fundraising <\/a>campaign to combat coastal erosion with the club aiming to raise \u00a3100,000.<\/a><\/p>\n

Councillors will be told that the club wishes to \u201cchange the premises from a members only club to be open to members of the public and amend the premises description.\u201d<\/p>\n

That means changing \u201cthe layout plan to increase the current licensed area to allow a motorised vehicle to sell drinks and snacks to golfers only on the links\u201d.<\/p>\n

The bid to change its license will also involve letting non-members drink there with new on sales hours until 1am and \u201cto create designated children areas\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to officials, following advertised changes and a consultation process, no \u201ctimeous objections or representations have been received\u201d.<\/p>\n

The matter will be decided on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
