Kim Hellberg sent a vital message to Middlesbrough supporters after the victory over Sheffield Wednesday, with his post-match reaction aimed at saying thanks and creating some energy.<\/p>\n
Boro<\/a> ended a seven-game winless run by defeating the Owls at the Riverside. It was their first win at the Riverside since January, and allowed the Boro boss to bring out his post-match fist pumps in the direction of the south stand.<\/p>\n But going further this time, encapsulating the relief he felt at the end of the game, he went right to the crowd, shaking hands with a number of the supporters behind the goal. He then took the megaphone of the Red Faction and sent his message loud and clear to fans.<\/p>\n In a video taken from the stands, Hellberg can be heard saying: \u201cThank you for your support. It\u2019s a big game on Saturday and we need you with us.\u201d<\/p>\n His plea came as Boro\u2019s win kept faint hopes of still finishing in the top two and earning automatic promotion alive. They\u2019ll need to win again on Saturday when Watford visit to have any chance of having anything riding on their final-day trip to Wrexham.<\/p>\n Asked about his post-match address to the supporters in his press conference after, he said: \u201cI just wanted to give some energy back to the people who give us energy all the time.<\/p>\n \u201cI’ve had unbelievable support since my first day here. Every person I meet outside the stadium is so happy and positive about everything we do, how we play and how we act.<\/p>\n \u201cI just wanted to give a little bit more back to them in terms of energy and say to them see you on Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n Boro\u2019s win came courtesy of Morgan Whittaker\u2019s goal. Boro\u2019s top scorer moved to 12 for the campaign in what was his first start since suffering an injury at the start of March.<\/p>\n On having Whittaker back, Hellberg said: \u201cYou need to have your best players when it comes to scoring goals and assists. We’ve had some of them away for some time, and that is tough for every team, and it has been for us too. So, it’s very good to have him back.
