use.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 2048 1463\" alt=\"Police have made arrests in a major clampdown on e-bike use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PoliceScotlandNorthEast\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Officers carried out a series of \u201cpatrols and intelligence led activities\u201d<\/a> in the Elgin area between Tuesday, April 21 and Thursday, April 23.<\/p>\n<p>An off-road bike and three e-scooters were seized in a joint effort by the Moray Community Investigation Unit, Road Policing Unit and Air Support Unit.<\/p>\n<p>Two youths will be reported to the relevant authorities in connection with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northern-scot.co.uk\/news\/teenager-s-e-bike-seized-after-several-incidents-of-anti-s-376936\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">off-road bike offence.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Three men will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the e-scooters.<\/p>\n<p>Stops and searches also resulted in one woman being given a Recorded Police Warning in connection with a drug offence, while another man was reported in connection with a drug offence.<\/p>\n<p>Sergeant Michelle MacDonald said: \u201cWe are aware of community concerns relating to the illegal use of e-bikes and e-scooters and we will not hesitate to take enforcement action to deal with this kind of crime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese three days of activities were also part of ongoing work to educate the public and road users.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUsing illegal or modified bikes can pose a risk to riders, pedestrians and other road users and we would urge anyone using one to make sure it complies with the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public has an important role when it comes to this kind of crime and anyone with information or concerns should contact us on
